Business is going to save the planet

We don’t have to go back to get to a better future

Lots of people over the past 20 years have developed a guilty ecological conscience. But it’s hard to reconcile that feeling with our way of life and how we want to live.

Part of that movement wants us to go back to the Middle Ages. If you know me at all, you know that’s not my vision.

Because there is a real alternative: build companies that address our very real problems, all while still using the profit-generation mechanism.

One example of these problems can seem like it’s just a nice story: completely replacing plastic spoons.

But single-use, disposable plastic spoons are a real epidemic. They’re used all the time and aren’t recycled. They’re straight pollution, and they’re going to pass hundreds of years polluting our soils and our oceans.

Tiphaine decided to attack that problem with Koovee. She’s created edible spoons (and now forks and knives too :) that are delicious and 100% biodegradable, so even if you’re gluten-intolerant and can’t eat them, no problem.

It’s exactly what I love in this kind of business: a real solution that’s simple, focused, and super profitable.

That simplicity comes directly from the intensity that Tiphaine brings with her every day. She’s sincere without being idealistic. She’s motivated by her cause, but with her feet firmly on the ground. She’s everything we love at The Family: determined, flexible, courageous, imaginative, and faithful.

She does have one defect, though: she doesn’t have a cofounder. So if you want to be part of an impactful, pure adventure, get in touch with her: tiphaine@koovee.co.
